03rd, March, 1899.
The troops proceeded to Uk Long, converging on the meeting house in high spirits. An interview was arranged. The inhabitants of Uk Long said that the burning of the houses or the capture house yesterday is a punishment which they could not doubt of the excellent effect produced.
It is noteworthy that the steps taken immediately on receipt of information of the atrocious crime in the vicinity was "owing to our tour."
The houses belong to Tan... The samloer, and the house at Uk Long to ... of tao ri... villagers, who have fled.
